Local Pacific Beach Cub Scout Pack 246 joined the town Council's Adopt-A-Block program and helped out by watering trees and picking up litter on the1300 block of Garnet Ave between Fanuel and Gresham streets.
Cub Scouts Pack 246 - Adopt A Block
There were 9 families and 13 Cub Scouts from pack 246 who attended! Everyone had a great time, and the kids learned a lot about the trees, and the importance of keeping our neighborhood well maintained and looking nice!
Afterwards all the scouts enjoyed some ice cream courtesy of Mr Frosties on Garnet Ave. All the Cub Scouts and their parents were happy to help keep Pacific Beach looking beautiful!
2022-04-28 - Pack 246 Pinewood Derby
The Pinewood Derby is a racing event for unpowered, unmanned miniature wooden cars. Each Cub Scout builds their own car from a blank kits containing a block of pine, plastic wheels, and metal axles. The kit is cheap and easily purchased. Cub Scouts can try to build their own cars but often need adults help with shaping the wood, and aligning the wheels properly. The scouts are encouraged to design and paint their own car. This is a learning experience, as well as fun for the whole family.
All of the cars are raced down a sloped track and pitted against each other for speed! Awards are shared for a variety of categories including Fastest, Most Creative, Best Paint Design and per Den as well.
