Cub Scout Pack 246
Cub Scout Pack 246 is a Family Cub Scouting Pack. This means, both girls and boys are welcome!
Cub Scouting is a family oriented, community organization and part of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). The entire family is welcome to join, younger siblings are encouraged to participate as well. Cub Scouts is designed for boys and girls 5 to10 years of age ( from Kindergarten through 5th grade) to teach important life and leadership skills, citizenship skills and personal fitness.
Children do not have to join Cub Scouts starting at kindergarten. They may join at anytime during their grammar school years. Many potential Cub Scouts discover us several years into their schooling and that is fine! We encourage everyone, no matter what year, to join!
Pack 246 is dedicated to ensuring our kids have rich, fun, safe, community oriented activities & experiences! Our goal is to develop the skills needed for future leaders via Character Development, Confidence Building, Outdoor Experiences, and FUN!!! Our program also promotes teamwork, fun, advancement and character-building.
We have year round activities, campouts and events. We're here to provide friends, mentors and a community to help our kids grow. The Cub Scout motto is "Do Your Best" and no matter what challenges life puts forth, no matter their age or the difficulty of the task our scouts are encouraged to always Do Their Best!
Meetings :
Our pack typically meets on the 4th Thursday of each month, but during the months of November and December, we may shift this to accommodate the holidays and winter break schedules.
Each den will meet typically once a month during the school year in order to complete den activities or requirements. Individual dens may choose to meet more frequently. Cubs may not be able to make it to every den meeting and can complete the requirements on their own.
There are also Pack Committee Meetings, other family oriented events, outdoor adventures, campouts, and Cub competitions like the Pinewood Derby and Rain gutter Regatta. There is plenty of fun and friends for all!
Attend as your schedule allows!
Parent Role & Responsibilities :
Volunteer Scout leaders along with Parents, and our Chartering organization work together to provide a richly rewarding program of activities for our Cub Scouts.
Parents and/ or adult family members should plan on supporting their child during their scouting journey. Cub Scouts is a family activity. You should always plan on staying and participating with your child.
As a supporting parent please plan on :
Accompanying your child to their den meeting, pack meetings, and camp outs.
Working with your Scout on their achievements and electives.
Supporting your Den Leader & Pack Leaders when asked.
Volunteering & becoming involved in your den & pack.
The more involved you are, the more your Scout will enjoy and learn from their scouting adventures!
